Well this is the last blog of 2009 and although it isn't a super exciting one for everyone else, it is for me. We had an ultrasound done a week before Christmas and it was the most amazing thing ever. I could not believe that in just three weeks from the last one that our little one has grown so much, you could tell what everything was and it was so crazy. It was also really fun because he/she had hiccups the entire time and so it was pretty funny. Also it likes to keep both hands in front of the face too, it was so cute. It was really nice to see it move around and to start looking more like a baby, but we still have one more month to go until we find out whether it is a boy or girl and then the fun can begin in planning for June! To me it is incredible how much I honestly already love this little baby, it definitely is a growing experience and I am trying to love and enjoy every minute of it.

Well sorry that my blog is lacking in the area of fun pictures lately, maybe I will decide to get myself ready for the New Years and post a picture of Todd and I at 15 weeks...maybe. I hope that you are all as excited for the year 2010 as we are and we wish you all the best!

I sure love the holidays! Thanksgiving has gotten me so excited for Christmas and I can't believe that it is already December, it is so crazy! Todd had a birthday yesterday and it feels like his last birthday was barely a month ago, time is flying by so fast I can't even believe it. I just want him to know that I sure love him and think he is the greatest husband ever. I do have a few recent pictures of Todd, but that will be a fun post about the Jazz game we went to on Thanksgiving, so I guess I do have lots to catch up on! For now I will just put up a picture of my handsome husband doing what he loves to do...this was from Alaska, we sure love that place!

In other big news...we have moved in! Hooray! With everything with the whole housing loan process it seemed as if this day would never come, and for the past few days we have actually been sleeping and living in our own home, it is kind of unreal and hasn't really hit yet. Gus actually doesn't realize that we live here, what with being displaced to Grandma Debi's while we have been working on it, he just keeps walking by the front door and waiting for us to leave and go home. Oh well, eventually he will love it like we do and realize he has way more room...he sure does love his new big backyard with friends on all sides to bark at. It is kind of strange to have neighbors now. My next post should be pictures of the before and after...but that will be in a while after we get all settled in of course.

We would really like to say thanks to everyone who has put in countless hours helping us work on the house there is no way we can even begin to repay you! Thank you for your many hours pulling awful wallpaper, sanding, mudding, texturing, primering, painting-thanks to the master Wendy who is so fast and so amazing, all of the beautiful finish work with the baseboards, casing, and our wonderful closets and doors-seriously Jay you are the best! Also our entryway railing which is so beautiful that Todd's grandpa LaGrand built for us, and many other things I am sure I am forgetting...(like the roof--thanks Jay and Cody!) Oh and of course, we can't forget the big move which was a great combined effort, which never would have happened without the help of my mother who was able to keep everyone on task with her master packing skills! I really don't want to leave anyone out especially since I had lots of dogsitters for Gus and lots of people who took care of us for dinner....so I guess just Thank You Everyone!

In other Really Big News...we have a very small announcement to make...really it is very little and just about two inches but we are so incredibly excited about it and get more and more excited every day....you are assuming correctly...Todd and I are going to have a baby in June! We found out the day after we closed on our house on October 15th and it has been consuming my thoughts for the past few months! I know that our family knows so it isn't going to be a big shock, but for those of you who we haven't run into us lately we just wanted to let you know. It is so crazy and I have been really sick, but we are hoping within the next few weeks it will change for the better, right? Anyways, we won't find out if it is a boy or a girl until sometime in January, but we will keep you updated. This is just a fun little ultrasound we had when I was just over 10 weeks...it's hard to see what is what, but I was just glad to see something there!

So yeah, lots of things are happening over here at the Whatcott household and every day I am so amazed at how truly blessed we are. I know there have been times when I thought this day for us would never come, but it seems that good things come in pairs with the house and the baby happening all in a matter of days and with all that we have been through, it is really helping me to appreciate everything more than I might have if it would have all come easily to us. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends, and it really makes it that much easier to be thankful for all we have.

Wishing with all my heart that I was here....Oh how I love the Happiest Place on Earth!

It seems strange that summer didn't quite seem like summer this year. I mean June was especially rainy and we have had a few hot days, but it seems as though summer just isn't quite the same as it used to be. I miss only having to worry about what friends I wanted to play with that day and making sure to put sunscreen on. (I think I only had four days that required sunscreen this year!) It just doesn't seem quite right. I guess thats what happens when you turn into a grown up.

I just wanted to post a quick little update on our busy lives. Todd is back in school again and I am so proud of him for just sticking to it, I keep trying to tell him that in a few years when he is done he will be so glad he is doing it now--easy for me to say since I never went to college! I am just glad that he only has to be gone two nights a week instead of the usual four for school, it is so nice that his work is nice enough to let him take time out of his day for one of his classes. With school starting back up again, it also means that hunting season is upon us...so I fear he won't be home as much as I hope but I am just glad he has such a fun hobby that he loves.

As for me I am just doing the same old thing, transcribing at odd hours because I can't figure out how to just stick to a routine! It is so much easier to find other things to occupy my time with instead of working, (plus I really hate mornings!) I realize this is the benefit from working from home, but some days it makes it really hard to motivate myself. I also have gotten into the world of deal shopping and coupons, I admit it, I am such a sucker for a good deal! You seriously wouldn't believe how much money I don't spend on groceries anymore, it is really so much fun!

We hit a couple of bumps during the house process with the government auditing our lender and having to resubmit with another lender just days before closing but it seems like things are starting to smooth out and hopefully by this time next week we will "officially" be home owners. Oh well, I guess that just gave us an extra couple of months to save!

In other big news, Todd and I have been married for two years! It seems crazy to think that it has really been two years, it sure doesn't feel like it. Time seems to fly by lately it's so crazy. These two years have honestly been the best of my life and it seems that marriage gets better with time. I love that I have a best friend to share everything with and that he is always willing to listen. Seriously, best husband ever. I love you Todd, with all my heart.

It really is funny to look back at life and see how we got where we are today. It's funny at the time when you think you are going through some pretty tough trials that it is only preparing you for the wonderful days to come, it is however much more peaceful to see things from this side. It also is helping me to put into perspective what I think of as my current struggles, because I know in a few years when I am on the other side of it I will wish I could have shook myself and said "Rosie, quit stressing over things you can't change, things always work out the way they are supposed to and you know it!" Come What May and Love It!

I sure wish I had the willpower to post some more pictures so this post could be a bit more exciting, but you see, my computer is not exactly the fastest...and to load just one picture seems to take an eternity. Hopefully we have some fun things to post about as fall approaches, wish us luck!

Summer is certainly flying by for us! We have just been trying to play as much as we can in between all the rainy days, which aren't so bad really. We had a great time with a lot of friends going to the Bees game...really I was only there for the fireworks!

We also had a wonderful time just soaking up the the sun, boating and relaxing down at Lake Powell. I think I ate double what I usually do during the week, but I guess all the sunshine and playing really takes it out of you!

Of course summer would not be complete with out good old Strawberry Days! It really is one of my favorite parts about summer. We can see and hear the carnival from our house, and we even could hear the rodeo too, well just on the nights that we weren't there. We went Thursday and Friday night and even though those benches are in serious need of replacement we had a great time complete with strawberries and cream!

This is a picture of the Whatcott crew on Thursday night, at least this year we weren't in the row that was being climbed over by everyone!

I had a birthday shout hooray! Yep, it's true, I am getting older...the big 23! Todd and I had such a fun time just spending the day together, we ate at Happy Sumo for lunch, my favorite, and then spent the day shopping and Todd bought me the best sunglasses ever! I am so excited for them to get here! Then we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill and went to see Transformers which I was so excited about and really want to go see again...yes it was that good! Thanks for the wonderful day Todd!

So all in all our summer has been going fast but we are trying to make the most of it before Todd has to get back to school in the fall. We are just glad that we still have another month or so to enjoy. In other news, its kinda a big deal and its a frustrating process but Todd and I are soon to be homeowners! Yeah, we decided to give in and buy since the time is right and we are just in the final stages for closing and then we have a lot of work to do but are so excited to get in and make it our own. So yeah, pretty exciting stuff, and we will keep you posted on the remodeling...it might be a while, but in the end it will be more than worth it!

Gus is such a weirdo. He loves his bed...but he always ends up upside down in it or hanging halfway over the edge. He has a little fleece blanket that has ties that sits over his bed and he always chews on one of the ties, just one. Even after his blanket is washed he can still find his favorite tie, it is the goofiest thing. He seriously makes me laugh so hard, and if I am having a bad day he can cheer me up pretty fast. We love having him as part of our little family...and I think he likes it here.

How HANDSOME is my husband? I just wanted to post about Todd and how wonderful he is. I just adore everything about him. I love the way he is so nice to try not to wake me up when he is getting ready for work in the morning, and how he always comes over to tell me that he is leaving. I love that even though I am probably driving him crazy with looking at houses and getting my hopes up about every one I see, he never makes me feel like I am stressing him out about it. I love that he is so kind to everyone. I love that he thinks I am funny, cause really I am not. I love that he motivates me to be a better person. I love that he is always willing to help people. I love that he lets me watch my TV shows...even though most of them are pretty dumb, I just get sucked in! I love that he gets along well with my family. The list could go on for days, but I just wanted to let him know how much I appreciate everything he does for me and how I am so glad that we have eternity to spend with each other, because one lifetime is simply not enough for the two of us. I love you Todd, always and forever.

Here is just a little bit of what we have been up to these past couple of months, just in case anyone was beginning to think we fell off the earth:

Jazz game against the Houston Rockets, fourth row! It was so sweet! It is so crazy how tall they all are, even the "short ones" tower over me. It was such a cool game to be at! We are sad the season is over and cannot wait to start watching them in the fall...as long as they keep my favorite Ronnie Price! (We also got to see Kyle Korver give his shoes way to a girl standing 2 feet away from us...Todd at least got to give him five and tell him good game.)

This is a picture of the turkey hunt. Todd's dad Jay and uncle Justin both drew out this year and the guys all had a wonderful time in the rain (and snow) hunting for their turkeys down south.

We must not have noticed that Gus had seemed to add on quite a bit of weight over the winter months, but it ended up not being weight at all and was really just fur! He looks like he lost about half of himself and looks a bit like a different dog really. He is loving his shorter haircut for the summer though and doesn't seem to get so hot outside. Here is the before and after:

Last but not least, we went to WICKED! I absolutely loved it. I was so excited about going and couldn't wait to go up to Capitol Theatre to see it last Wednesday and had been listening to the soundtrack more than usual to get myself excited for it. Todd was even so nice and took one of his finals for the semester a day early so he could go up with me and two of my little sisters, Emily and Mackenzie, what a wonderful husband he is!

We are just looking forward to the summer and being able to have Todd at home during the nights. He is excited about his break from school and deserves to have a little time off! I can't believe that it is almost Strawberry Days! This year has really flown by, its crazy to think that in just a few short months we will have been married for two full years. It seriously feels like we just barely got married!

A Valentines Adventure!

I have the greatest husband in the whole world, he truly is amazing and I am so glad to have found him! For Valentines he surprised me with a fun little get away to my favorite place...Disneyland! We decided to make a fun weekend of it and drive down to Vegas thursday and get up early on Friday and drive to Disneyland so we could spend three fun filled days there before coming home on Monday. As far as we were concerned it couldn't get more perfect, until...a small freeway closure in Beaver that took us on a funfilled adventure through Minersville. It barely added an extra 20 minutes onto our trip and then we were on our way to Vegas! We stayed at the lavish Circus Circus...ha! Okay, okay even though it was a little rundown it was sure worth paying only 20 dollars to stay the night. This is when things started to get a bit bumpy...well when we woke up early so we could leave around 7:00 a.m. (I am so not a morning person, but for Disneyland I sure can be!), we came out to the car and saw this little beauty...

yeah, basically that is a screw broken off in the tire of the car...and the tire was flat. Not exactly the start we were hoping for, but no worries Big O Tires to the rescue! Boy am I sure glad that we bought new tires for the car last year, making the repair free!

So on our way down through California we passed about 14 Corvettes, which must have been on their way to something special but we also hit some fog...it was crazy, the pictures hardly even show you how foggy it was...

Due to the fact that I somehow never figure out that I shouldn't drink as much soda on long drives, we had to stop a few times. This is a sweet picture of our very last stop in Barstow where we ended up seeing another 6 Corvettes, we still have no idea where they were headed.

And The Clarion Hotel even let us check in way early and upgraded us to a King Suite! The first night we even got to watch the fireworks from our room! (Can you tell which blanket is mine and which one is Todd's?)

We made it! Finally.....The Happiest Place on Earth!

I truly love this place. Todd and I had so much fun just spending the weekend with each other, riding rides and eating frozen bananas, (my favorite thanks to my dad). It was funny though because I don't remember even getting tired at Disneyland before, I must be out of shape! It did end up pouring rain while we were there and since I left our ponchos and umbrella at the hotel I had to give in and buy this sweet hat (any reason to shop I suppose!).

I have to say that I think Todd's favorite part of the vacation was deciding to eat at ESPN Zone! It was crazy, we got to sit in some recliners at the front of the restaurant and eat while just lounging and watching the big screen TV in front of us, it was so nice to be able to lay down and recline after walking all over the park that day.

Valentines was the best ever! We got to eat at our favorite restaurant at Disneyland, The Blue Bayou and the food was so good! I swear, each time we come it gets better and better!

All in all we had a really wonderful trip. It rained quite a bit, but it made it a little less crowded and I really think that Todd and I have mastered the art of the Fast Pass. I know that we were only there a few weeks ago, but blogging about it makes me anxious to get back!

Okay, so I turned this picture into a cartoon and saved over the original...oops! I just can't wait until we have a few small ones to drag along with us! Hooray for Disneyland!

Alive, I promise!

Here goes....To get myself back into the whole blogging thing, I decided I would start with something small to let you know that I am still alive before I dive into a longer post tomorrow...hopefully. Todd and I have just been super busy, (as I am sure most of you reading are!) and I just am glad that we have tried to take pictures so we can remember that even though life seems to be speeding by with basically work, school, eating and sleeping that we have managed to work in some fun. It might take a few posts to get you updated on what is going on in the Whatcott household, but I know it will be impossible not to leave a few things out! Just hang on a few weeks and we will be back on track!

Gotta love the Jazz!
